Our Beliefs
Fundamentals of Faith
We hold the Bible, both the Old and New Testament, as the final authority and rule of faith and practice. Hence, the statement of Fundamental Truth is intended as a basis of fellowship among us.
1) The Bible
We affirm the full inerrancy and inspiration of the Bible. It is a revelation from God to man and superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason.
(2 Tim. 3:15-17, 1 Pet 2:2, Heb 4:12)
2) The one triune God
We worship one true God, who revealed Himself as the eternally self-sufficient, self-existent, self-revealed “I AM”. The one true God has furthered revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three distinct Persons but one Essence, thus we may speak with propriety of the Lord our God, Who is one Lord, as a Trinity or as one Being of three Persons. In this Trinity none is afore, or after another; none is greater, or less than another, but the three Persons are coequal and coeternal. (Deut 6:4, Mark 12:29, Isa 43:10-11, Matt 28:19, Luke 3:22, 2 Cor 3:14, John 14:16-17, 1 Cor 1:24, 1 John 1:3).
3) Jesus Christ, the Son of God
We believe in the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Word became flesh. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man. With regards to His divine nature He is the “only begotten Son” of the Father, but as to His human nature, He is the proper Son of Man, of “flesh and blood”. Hence, we affirm the divinity of Jesus as the “only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father”, and the humanity of Jesus as “come in the flesh”. (John 1:14,18, 3:16, Matt 1:23, 1 John 3:18, Heb 7:3)
4) The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, as distinct from the Father and the Son, yet of the same essence with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father to all believers, proceeding from the Father and sent by the Son. (John 15:26, Acts 2:38-39, Rom. 8:9, Acts 16:6-7)
5) The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We affirm the baptism of the Holy Spirit for empowerment to be Christ’s witnesses, and the bestowment of gifts and their uses for the ministry of the church and the propagation of the Gospel of Christ Jesus to the end of the world. (Luke 24: 49, Acts 1:4-8, 1 Cor 12:1-31).
This experience is distinct and subsequent to the experience of new birth. (Acts 10:44-46, 15:7-9, 19:2-6)
6) Humanity, Humanity’s Fall and Redemption
We affirm that the world of Humanity, male and female, was created in the image of God, and it is good and upright. But humanity, by voluntary transgression, fell and the only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. (Gen 1:26-31, 3:1-7, Rom 5:12-21)
7) The Salvation of Man
We affirm that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ the Son of God. We are justified through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displaced publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. (Rom 3:21-25). We are saved by grace through faith, not as a result of work but it is the gift of God. (Eph 2: 8-9). It is through repentance towards God and faith is our Lord Jesus Christ that we enter into eternal life and become heirs of God.
(Titus 2:11, 3:5-7, Rom 10:13-15, Luke 24:47)
8) The Evidences of Salvation
We affirm in the evidences of salvation or fruit of repentance. The inward evidence to believer of His salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit. (Rom 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. (Eph 4:24, 1 John 2:29, 3:7-10, 1 Pet 1:13-16)
9) The Church
The Church, locally and universally, is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through His Holy Spirit with divine appointments for fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral member of the Church of God.
(Eph 1:22-23, 4:4-13, 1 Cor 3:16, 6:19, Heb 12:23, 1 Pet 2:4-5)
10) The Water Baptism
All who sincerely repent and believe in their hearts that Jesus is Lord, is a new creation in Christ. We have to follow the bible principles by going through the water baptism, and be crucified and resurrected with Christ. (Matt 28: 19, Acts 10: 47-48, 20:21, Rom 6:4, Heb 10:22).
11) The Holy Communion
We remember the great works of Jesus Christ on the cross. This also signifies we may participate in the divine nature. (2 Pet 1: 4)
12) The Last Things
We believe in the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ from heaven. At that time the dead will be resurrected, and both the living and the dead will be judged. Those whose names are found in the Book of Life will enter into the new heaven and the new earth, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life to eternal condemnation in the lake of fire. (1 Thess 4:16-17, Rom 8:23, Titus 2:13, 1 Cor 15:51-52, Rev 19-20, 20:10-15).
